Ramallah’s thobe is elegant all over, even in its benayiq. The simplicity of the arrangement of patterns on the sides balances its intricate and famous qabbeh very well. The edge of this wide-legged trouser is embroidered with two motifs typical of the region, keff al yad or the palm of the hand topped with a makahleh or a kohl holder, in Ramallah’s distinctive dark red.
